Today's 5k time trial was the farewell run for our friend Gregor who will leave us at the end of this year to run (and live) in Australia for a change. His time in the results below includes running back on the course to shake hands with slower participants. Comeback of the day: Beng joined us again after almost 8 years !
Today's 5k time trial was the farewell run for our colleague Bernd who will soon leave for Germany. He was a core member of the CTBTO team at the Agency Games and recorded strong entries in our top 100 lists.
Marco had a successful comeback after his injury.
A lot of PRs in the relatively young discipline of 5km runs which will all reflect in the top 100 list of course (is this already the effect of Matthew's special training ?).
Good to see Gerald back in the results list after his "pine cone incident" last June.
Agathe has been added at the end of the list. As a newcomer she did not find the start but joined the race at a later point of time.
Before the announced storm "Kyrill" hits Vienna this evening, the VICRunners could still do the scheduled 5k time trial in Donaupark.
This was a farewell run for Andreas who is going to leave CTBTO at the end of this month. He will still join us for our triathlons as his new assignment will be at a Viennese bank.
Lots of timers today, but it was necessary: the equipment failed and the recording had to be done manually.
Jalil seems to be in shape for this year's Sylvesterlauf on Ringstrasse. Christina jumps to no. 3 in the 5k top 100, Virginie misses no. 4 by 1 second.
Today's September 5k time trial was also Stephen LLOYD's farewell run - he will leave us to go to Belgium. All the best, Stephen !
There were some discussions about the starting point for this race - we probably will have to remeasure the course once more. Interesting duel between the two Julias; it is a shame that the IAEA-Julia will only be around for one month. Maria-Julia's baby is due in a few weeks but she walked 1 mile, nevertheless.
The VICRunners personnel landscape is constantly changing !
New IAEA staff Matthew will probably be able to break a few records in future as can be seen by his excellent 5k time today.
As partner of Maria-Julia, Peter has been "promoted" to family member as of today, and he will from now on fight for VICRunners Cup points as well.
Again enthusiastic acceptance of the new 5k distance and many PRs ! We will try to add at least one of these events to our autumn schedule. Gulab let his wife run this time and was babysitting in the meantime.
