Annual Run

Matthew MURRAY improved his own VIC record by 16 seconds.
Newcomer of the year: Takehiko KUNO with an excellent time in his first run with the VICRunners immediately jumping to rank 7 in our top 100.
Martin CRIJNS joined again after 1 year and took the seniors' gold medal.
Junior Arian LEHNER did not stop after the second lap but did the full 10k - congratulations to him and to all others who joined for the first time !

Only disadvantage of the excellent weather last Saturday at our Annual Run: there were so many visitors in Donaupark that running the ideal line was difficult. My proposal: let's do this event next time Saturday morning.
Our guests once more dominated this Annual Run. For the first time in VICRunners history: a lady was the fastest in the open category.
Martin Crijns ran his first 10k with us since more than 4 years, and Reinhard did his first 10k after his long stay in hospital - welcome back to both !

For the athletes there was absolutely no problem this time with dogs, trains, walkers in Donaupark because IN A WEATHER LIKE THIS NOBODY WOULD GO OUT WITHOUT A GOOD REASON. Heavy rain did not keep members and guests of the VICRunners from having a good time at the Annual Run, however.

Excellent weather conditions, a sensational PR by our guest Peter Polzer, many new names. This Annual Run was to a great extent a "family run" - in the result list we can find four couples, father and daughter, two sisters and a complete family consisting of parents, son and daughter.

In our 21st Annual Run we had the honour to welcome Povl LASBO and his family. Povl initiated the VICRunners Club in 1981 but left Vienna already in 1983. This race was characterized by some remarkable details: Mahim improved his PR by more than 1 minute nineteen years after his first run for the VICRunners; Beate and Andrea had almost a photo-finish fighting for the victory in the open category; Laila did her first 10k with us although 2 laps would have been enough to win the juniors competition.
