2008/2009

Last competition before the IAG next week and everybody still tired from the various marathons and half-marathons last weekend (Berlin, Wachau, Prater).

This was the last chance for the team captains to check out the shape of the participants for the upcoming Inter Agency Games in Bad Kleinkirchheim (this time exceptionally in autumn).
The leading duo did some extra-exercises during the race (intervals) while at the bottom of the list some of the ladies were lost on the track - sorry.

Just in time the red flag has been removed after the big flood to allow a proper triathlon.
The comebacks of the year: Frannie joins again after more than 7 years, Patrick after more than 6 years - good to see both of you again !
Julia improves her PR by more than 8 minutes.

Different reports have been received about the incidents regarding timers and timing equipment in this race. The negative impact, however, was minor. Even if the times provided may not be accurate, the VICRunners secretariat abstains from the proposed measure to tar and feather the head timer.

Today's 10k race had to be reduced to a 9.6k race due to a children event in Donaupark, therefore no PRs ! And I am sure there would have been several today - sorry !
One of the most prominent VICRunners retires this month and once more pressed the keys on our timing machine today: Christian Chabert. His impressive records: 4:46 for the mile, 34:48 for the 10k. All the best, Christian !

Record participation in this year's VICGames: we had never before 12 teams ! PRs on the top of the table. Almost 30 degrees today, but they promised cooler weather for Thursday's 10k.
