There still was some energy left after the last weekend of Vienna marathon and half-marathon for several PRs. Hopefully some of this power can be preserved until the IAG 2009 in October.
4th IAG Qualification Run (Mile No. 92)
3rd IAG Qualification Run (10k No. 235)
The first real spring race (+ 15 degrees) with improvements of PRs in the range from 1 second to more than 4 minutes. Congratulations !
2nd IAG Qualification Run (Mile No. 91)
Will we ever see all the stars in one race ? This time Matthew (injury), Maxime (travel), Alfred and Rene were missing. No PRs this time, but the season is still young ...
1st IAG Qualification Run (10k No. 234)
Enough time for the participants for warming up, since one of the timers was too late - sorry. The VICRunners were pleased to see Tom Dolan participate again on the occasion of a consultants meeting he is attending in Vienna. This run was decided in a very close finish and certainly we will see more tough competitions like this in future.
Feb Time Trial (5k No. 18)
The first direct encounter of almost all VICRunners stars and a very exciting and close finish. Those who were lapped by the top group could watch it from very short distance ...
Jan Time Trial (5k No. 17)
In today's 5k time trial, temperatures were pleasant: +2 degrees after the last days' negative numbers. The slippery surface did not allow any PRs except for snow specialist Wiebke. First VICRunners appearance for Slava and Adam - welcome !
Dec Time Trial (5k No. 16)
This was a very exciting 5k competition with a promising bunch of newcomers, and we are looking forward to seeing them compete with Matthew next year. Congratulations to the seven runners with PRs - they all climb up in the top 100 list.
14th Donaupark Handicap Run (10k No. 233)
The timers had a rough time at today's 10k Handicap Run: cold fingers, wet feet and the timer equipment failed - and that is the reason why only end times can be provided. The first handicap run in VICRunners history took place in November 1984. It was held three times, then stopped for 10 years and revived in 1997. We are still grateful for this excellent idea !
